Machine learning offers opportunities to innovate in industries as never before

Whether it is an almost endless phone tree or poor communication with a call center, people battling an illness all-too-often become very frustrated. Authenticx based in Indianapolis, Indiana is leading the charge to change that patient experience.

Founded by Amy Brown the four plus year old startup recently closed their $20 million Series B round. The investment will fund their sales and marketing efforts as well as further develop its machine learning innovation that supports the company’s healthcare conversational intelligence platform.

“The infusion of capital gives us the opportunity to continue our growth in becoming the go-to solution for healthcare organizations relying on call centers,” said Brown who has over 20 years of public and private sector experience in healthcare. Her most recent position was Chief Operating Officer of Seven Corners, Inc.

Brown quickly led Authenticx out of the gate, securing five of the top global pharmaceutical companies. Such prominent clients were the result of the healthcare startup’s innovative approach in solving patient frustration.  With digital technology now abounding, Brown founded a company based on data, listening to 100 million conversations that identified multiple disruptive patterns in call centers that are so frustrating to patients.

“Authenticx is transforming the industry by using comprehensive customer insights and metrics that can really drive growth,” said Scott Sanner, a member of Blue Heron’s OA Collaborative and now a member of the Authenticx board. “I’m excited to bring my passion and experience to this opportunity and work with a company that is taking big chances and making bold changes.”

Blue Heron Capital led the round and as a growth equity firm it focuses the healthcare and enterprise technology industries. Other round participants backing the healthcare startup included: Beringea, Indiana Next Level Fund/50 South Capital Advisors, High Alpha, Mutual Capital Partners, Signal Peak Ventures, Allos Ventures, Elevate Ventures, and M25.

Blue Heron Co-Founder and Managing Partner Tom Benedetti, spoke with passion of his firm’s partnership with Authenticx and what it will bring to customers.

“As healthcare organizations focus on building customer-centric solutions, they need to cut to the truth of what customers want. We’re excited to partner with Authenticx and their visionary strategy as they continue to align business decisions with patient experiences.”

Brown saw an innovative opportunity to give healthcare providers intelligent insights at scale—by aggregating analyzing and activating customer interaction data from voice, chat and email, as never before.  Clients are able to see hidden barriers, motivators, and strategies for making confident, data-backed decisions.

The fast growing healthcare startup is setting the standard for “conversational intelligence in healthcare” that is changing the listening process for patient feedback. Authenticx offers innovative solutions that substantively improve patients’ journeys, while adding efficiency to an organization’s operating staff.
