Sandy Carter’s latest book, “Extreme Innovation”, makes the argument that innovation should be a go-to tool in any company.
Carter went on to state that, “The need for innovation is greater than ever, but nobody seems to have a road-map on how to do it, or how it should work in a practical situation, and be aligned with larger corporate strategy and objectives.”
The statement is backed up by hard data, with the lifespan of the average S&P 500 company dropping from 33 years to 14, with half of all companies in the S&P 500 index in danger of being replaced within the next ten years.
The book focuses on three main areas that Carter believes are crucial for innovation. Speed through diversity, the need for Super Intelligence, and the ecosystems that surround new technologies.
“Extreme Innovation” also contains over 100 case studies, including a diversity study conducted by Carnegie Mellon and Silicon Blitz, an innovation exploration and research firm.
The book will be launched at the South by Southwest Conference in Austin, a weeklong celebration of the convergence of the film, interactive, and music industries.
