Embarcadero Technologies announced on July 17th that the winner of its Cool App Contest is Alpemix. The app enables remote control, file transfer, desktop sharing, and text and voice communication across Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices behind firewalls and NAT proxies.

Providing tools to all sorts of application developers, Embarcadero’s products are in use by 90 Fortune 100 companies, with more than three million users worldwide. The Cool Apps contest challenges applicants to build apps for any industry using Embarcadero tools, and runs monthly. The winning app will be highlighted on Embarcadero’s Youtube channel and receive a $500 Amazon gift card.

Engineer and chief developer advocate at Embarcadero, Jim McKeeth, spoke about Alpemix in a press release, saying that, ““Alpemix is a great example of a project that takes full advantage of our multi-platform vision… It is also the type of application that benefits from the performance and security of a pure native solution. It is natural that Alpemix should be featured as a cool app built with Delphi and the cross-platform FireMonkey framework.”

The contest accepts any application constructed with Delphi, RAD Studio, or C++ Builder that uses DataSnap, FireDAC, InterBase, VCL, FireMoney, and any other component, service, infrastructure, API, or device.
