The small business training event, “Grow Your Sales with E-Commerce” is coming to Boise, Idaho on September 11th thanks to a collaboration between the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Boise District Office, Amazon, and local partners. Intended for small business owners and entrepreneurs of all kinds, the event seeks to give the tools, information, and tips needed for success selling services and goods online.

Jeremy Field, a regional administrator with the SBA, spoke about the upcoming event, saying that, “Small business owners are always looking at ways to grow their business and reach more customers. With online sales, anyone in the country or the world can be a potential customer. We’re thrilled to bring in the experts from Amazon and the SBDC to help Idaho businesses become more digitally savvy.”

Speakers at the event include experts from Amazon and the Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC); James Risch, U.S. Senator and chairman of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee; SBA representatives; and a panel of local small business owners who have successful online businesses.

“Many people do not realize that more than half of everything sold on Amazon comes from a small- and medium-sized business,” said Kyle Walker, Amazon’s Head of new business strategy, stressing the importance of the online market. “Amazon first invited small businesses to sell on Amazon nearly two decades ago, and today, small businesses are a vital part of our continued growth and commitment to customers.”
