December 6, 2014 – Cornell student entrepreneur Jake Reisch, founder of Audiarchy, a group audio company focused on enhancing sound for aging adults, was one of eighteen university students selected for the annual Silicon Valley Bank Trek that will be held on January 6th through the 8th, 2015. Nine leading higher education institutions participate in the program which is “dedicated to educating, advising and fostering the next generation of innovators.” The University Partners serve as program advisers and select the “undergraduate and graduate students that best represent the spirit of the innovation sector from their diverse student body,” according to the program’s web site.
The three day trek goes from Silicon Valley to San Francisco. During that time, students network with peers and advisers and gain insight and advice that will further their career development. The tour includes Stanford University, a Silicon Valley incubator and socializing at a downtown Palo Alto hot spot and the new Levi’ Stadium. The students are given a view of the local tech scene that includes highlights of well known Valley innovators. It wraps up with meetings and discussions with leading area venture capitalists and a farewell dinner to top off the educational and insightful learning experience.
The nine participating universities are: Cornell University, Harvard University, Ohio State University, Texas A&M, University of California-Berkeley, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and The Wharton School.
