Qloo, a major platform that suggests cultural activities for consumers based on preference, has acquired TasteDive, a similar platform also based on Artificial Intelligence that recommends reading, watching, and other entertainment for users. The acquisition combines to create a well-curated platform that will serve the existing 4.5 million users, enhancing their lives with personalized suggestions.
Qloo’s services range from recommended music, film, podcasts, nightlife, dining, fashion, and more. In addition to using AI to benefit consumers based on accurate predictions, Qloo also helps drive sales and build brands of leading companies, by providing anonymized consumer data to businesses in these industries.
TasteDive is more concentrated within the entertainment industry, focusing on authors, books, games, music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts. Users can also opt in to register and create a sharing taste profile, receive personalized recommendations, and socialize with a global community to expand their range of cultural exposure.
Together, the two can integrate further into the market, reach more users around the world, and use TasteDive’s advanced programming interface (API) to offer more accurate suggestions.
“Consumer tastes are increasingly fragmented as there’s more to watch, read, listen to and buy than ever, and more ways to do it. People are overwhelmed by choice. TasteDive is the most elegant solution I’ve seen for navigating all that choice and getting truly great recommendations,” said Alex Elias, Founder and CEO of Qloo in a press statement. “TasteDive does for millions of individuals what Qloo has been doing for brands for years – using AI to make better decisions about culture and taste.”
