American Express Ventures, the strategic investment group of American Express, joined multiple investors in DataGrail’s Series A round, according to a DataGrail announcement made last week. The other funders are: Okta Ventures, Basis Set Ventures, and Cloud Apps Capital Partners supporting DatGrail as it scales.
DataGrail’s platform is used to help businesses manage operations and privacy, including accessing and deleting personal data, working in compliance with existing and emerging privacy laws. With over 150 pre-build connectors with companies such as Adobe and Oracle, DataGrail helps companies discover and track personal data within seconds, greatly reducing inefficiency.
The platform is personalized with the option to synchronize privacy preferences across all departments in the company, ensuring that any changes made to the data are consistent across the system. DataGrail helps companies serve their customers and cater to their privacy needs risk-free and with no human error.

With four offices globally American Express Ventures has invested in over 50 start-ups since its founding in 2011. They focus on commerce, payments, fraud prevention, data analytics and security with two-thirds of their portfolio companies have commercial partnerships with business units of American Express.
