Trenton, NJ –Underscoring New Jersey’s improved business climate and commitment to help companies locate, stay and create jobs in the state, Acting Governor Kim Guadagno today joined officials from Thales to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new state-of-the-art facility in Piscataway. The company’s decision to expand in New Jersey means over 200 jobs will be created and retained in the state, including jobs the company is moving from Seattle to Piscataway. This new facility will become the center of Thales’ avionics services business, Thales Avionics Services Worldwide.

“Thales’ decision to expand and make an even greater investment in the state is just the latest sign that companies recognize that New Jersey is an excellent choice to locate and grow a business,” said Acting Governor Guadagno. “Governor Christie’s commitment to promote economic growth, nurture job creation and spur business investment in the Garden State is clearly producing results.”

Thales’ new Piscataway facility will handle basic and complex avionics service needs, including maintenance, repair, spare equipment sales, and engineering services for original equipment manufacturers, airlines and helicopter business jet operations in the Americas.

“For Thales and many other companies, New Jersey’s highly educated and prepared workforce is among the compelling reasons to do business here. With the highest concentration of engineers and scientists per square mile of anywhere in the world, we’re proud that New Jersey is the ideal state for Thales and its employees,”added Acting Governor Guadagno.
