On October 20th and 21st, the Oregon Bioscience Association will be holding its annual conference, Oregon Bio 2016: The Bioscience Landscape, bringing together “top entrepreneurial minds” who will focus on “life-saving cures, pioneering medical innovations and groundbreaking health technologies,” according to the organization’s press release.
Discussions will cover innovation, research and entrepreneurship as key contributors to growing Oregon's bioscience industry. This will be in view of the rapid development of device, drug and digital health technologies that are changing the bioscience landscape. Denise McCarty who is the executive director of the Oregon Bioscience Association sees the conference as a way of increasing dialogue, networking and cooperation among industry professionals, while addressing key industry trends.
McCarty states that “this is the only event of this size offered in Oregon to examine how emerging biotechnologies positively impact capital flow, collaboration across sectors, the industry’s growing workforce and the rapidly-evolving life sciences environment.”
Leaders from companies such as Horizon Government Affairs, Columbia Sportswear, Cambia Health Solutions, Genentech, Zoetic Data, Inc. and Modern Edge will be part of the conference. In addition to speeches by notable experts, the event will also feature10-minute pitches from companies with a Q&A session from the audience.
