The driving concept behind the program is to allow early stage companies with low cost or free proprietary capital market data via IHS Markit, with Illuminate Financial founding partner Mark Whitcroft commenting, “We know from experience working with and investing in fintech startups that access to market data is make or break for an effective product research and development.”
Illuminate Financial will screen applicants to the program based on several criteria, including business plans, data and funding requirements, and the strength of their business teams and company management. Those companies that are selected will receive licenses based on their use cases, and will receive fixed income and equity market datasets including indexes, analytics, and pricing and reference data.
IHS Markit holds over 50,000 government and business customers, which includes 85% of the Fortune Global 500. Illuminate Financial, founded in 2014, bridges the gap between financial institutions and the capital markets fintech they serve.
