VentureWell, a non-profit higher education network assisting young scientists launch and commercialize their ventures, announced that its next conference, Open 2017, will take place on March 24-25 in Washington, D.C. VentureWell is encouraging students, faculty, and entrepreneurs to submit a proposal to participate in one of the four session formats in the conference by October 3rd, 2016.
The formats consist of:
- Open Minis - quick, dynamic, 6-minute PPT presentations
- Open Exchanges - 75-minute, unstructured, participant-driven discussions about a specific topic or theme
- Workshops - 75-minute sessions that emphasize interaction and exchange of information with attendees
- Panels - 75-minute sessions designed to allow for discussion amongst presenters as well as provide a forum for interaction with attendees
“VentureWell is on a mission to cultivate a pipeline of inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs driven to solve the world’s biggest challenges and to create lasting impact,” according to the organization’s press release. Learning best practices is a important outcome of the conference.
To meet its goal VentureWell is giving preference to participants whose presentations are highly interactive and creative. Open 2017’s topics include: Curricular, Co-curricular & Extra-curricular models, Assessment, Early Stage Innovators (ESI’s), Global and topics in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E).
Participants will be notified of their acceptance status by November 21, 2016.
