2017 Cupid’s Cup Entrepreneurship Competition Open to Applicants, $100K in Prizes

Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank has partnered with the University of Maryland to host the 2017 Cupid’s Cup entrepreneurship competition, which touts itself as “the nation’s toughest business competition.”

Applications are open now through January 1, and the winning team receives $100,000 in cash prizes. Regional competitions will feed into the semi-final round at the Under Armour campus on February 6, and the six finalists will compete for the grand prize on March 30.

Applicants must be enrolled at a university, under the age of 30 and the owner of a legal business entity.

Since starting in 2006, Cupid’s Cup has quickly grown into a nationwide competition, with over 25 university partnerships including Harvard, Georgetown and Duke.

Last years winner, Javazen, designed a product combining coffee with loose-leaf teas and nutrient-rich superfoods, hoping to make the world of coffee a healthier place.

Past judges have included Plank, Shark Tank star Daymond John, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, Arianna Huffington and Russel Simmons.
